Jayne Stansfeld my work now at Aldeburgh Exhibition May 16th - 22nd 2013

Inspired by poetry, her walks and meanderings: sea, skies, woods, birds and animals, Jayne explores vivid and subtle colour combinations in hand spun wool, felt drawings and paper mache.

Decorative and anthropomorphic birds hop about, or nestle amongst undergrowth, and ‘blingy’ sheep appear from nowhere. The sea is whipped up into large wooly confections, a knitted mantle or a crocheted crinoline, whilst small colourful, dogs, foxes and children play chase or snooze.

Born in Coventry into a creative family, Jayne has made things from paper and textiles from a young age. She is also a qualified teacher and playworker. Jayne now works with renewable and recycled materials, rather than ceramics (and 3D design) which she studied at Cardiff. Jayne runs art and colour workshops and is a co-founder of the Magpie and Me Pop up Shop to promote and sell work by local Suffolk artists and crafts people.

Work in the exhibition is for sale and available to commission.

There will be demonstrations of hand spinning yarns at the show, for details or to get in touch, please see website:
